Being Vegan isn’t easy. Being a vegan in Philadelphia is downright hard. Finding locally grown restaurants is nearly impossible outside of downtown (and even there it’s minimal).
A few weeks ago I went to California to visit my sister and brother in-law. They live in Redondo Beach and have the opportunity to walk to grocery stores, the beach, library, pretty much anything you need. And it’s super easy to eat healthy, local foods. I loved the healthy lifestyle and vegan/vegetarian options!

Unfortunately moving to California is not in the plans anytime soon. So I need to try and make Philly work for me. Fortunately there is an upcoming event that I’m super excited about: the very first Philadelphia VegFest in June! Vegetarian, Vegan and plain old healthy living information and demonstration from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, June 14th. I’m really looking forward to learning more about local opportunities for me and my lifestyle.
