Fireworks, BBQ’s, warm weather, family, friends… these are just a few reasons why I love July 4th. In Philadelphia, I truly feel we celebrate our nations independence with the respect and fun it deserves!
On the 4th between 10:00-11:00am, pay tribute to the history of our great nation at Independence Hall with a patriotic and inspiring morning of music, speeches and a reading of excerpts from the Declaration of Independence. This year’s ceremony is extra special as it recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Wawa’s Welcome to America starts this weekend! Music, shopping, family fun events (‘Frozen’ at Franklin Square on the 30th!), and block parties each day leading up to the 4th. On the 4th, the big party on the Parkway starts at 12pm and leads to “Largest Free Concert in America.” THE ROOTS, ED SHEERAN, NICKI MINAJ, JENNIFER HUDSON,ALOE BLACC, and ARIANA GRANDE, along with VICCI MARTINEZ, take the stage followed by an amazing fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
